The Tour to South Africa will now definatley go ahead. 36 boys have signed up . there will be a meeting on Sunday 27th to discuss the next stages.
Fund raising must now start in earnest as we are behind schedule and have a lot of money to raise.

The tour presentation took place on Friday , it seemed to be well recieved , hopefully you all agree. It is we think a fabulous opportunity for both Rugby and personal development .
Letters of intent must be with me by Monday 10th so that we can move forward , we have a lot to do in a fairly short period of time .
So far 11 boys have said yes , we will require a minimum of 35 to proceed.
The tour presentation WILL be held this Friday(30th) at The TA centre Dyke Road , Brighton starting at 7.30pm. There is plenty of parking , please enter by the Southern gate , you will be directed to where the meeting is to be held. The tour presentation will be on Friday 30th November at the TA centre in Brighton ( map to follow), it will start at 7.30pm all details of the proposed tour will be presented in details . all details of fund raisig will be discussed.
The proposed presentation evening has been cancelled through lack of interest further details will follow . All players selected for this years squad will be invited on the tour.
The Sussex U16 coaching squad would like to invite you to a presentation on the proposed Rugby tour of South Africa in July / August 2009.
The presentation is to be held at the TA centre 198, Dykes Road Brighton E Sussex BN1 5AS on Friday 19th October. The presentation will start at 7.30; the centre will be open from 7.00pm the bar will also be open.
Following the presentation there will be a question and answer session.
At the end of the presentation you will be given letters asking you to register your interest in the tour and if you would like to be considered for a place in the touring squad. These are to be returned to me within 7 days. You will also be asked to start the fund raising by selling the 100 club and SA tour pens.
The proposed tour squad will then be chosen at the end of October / early November.
As I’m sure your aware we are inviting some new players to train with the squad for the next 2 sessions, following these sessions we will be choosing the County squad of approx. 54 players who will be representing the County next season. Unfortunately if you don’t make the squad you will not be invited on the tour . We realise this is difficult and un-settling for you, but it will also be making some very difficult decisions, this is a divisional year so we have to look for the strongest squad.
Could you please confirm if you will or will not be attending the presentation evening as soon as possible .
1st fund raising event
Evening at Hove Dogs ; fun packed evening parents and players are invited although all U18 will have to give Andy their names and the name of the adult they will be going with .
September 25th doors open 6.00pm last race 9.30pm . we will also be allocated a trap so more winnings hopefully. Please tell your parents .
We are proposing a tour of South Africa with the Sussex squad in July / August 2009. The tour is in the very early stages so few details are available at present. However, a full presentation on all details will be made to players and parents in October. (Exact details to follow.)
As of now the details of the tour are:
- Travel to Pretoria - stay 4 / 5 days - playing 2 / 3 matches
- Travel to Durban - stay 4 / 5 days - 2 / 3 matches
- Travel to Cape Town - stay 7 / 8 days - 3 / 4 matches
All player will be expected to take part in various fund raising activities as a large amount of money will need to be raised to help fund the tour. We will be setting up a seperate website for the tour later in the year, which will host all information as it becomes available.
