What is the 'Summer Squad'?

The County games in the U16 season start some six weeks into the season, this is a very short time period. It is also the season where Divisional and National honours are at stake. So having worked so hard over the past season we don't want to lose the team spirit or team work. A series of dates will be set and you, as the 'Summer Squad' will be invited to attend those sessions. There will be small unit work with the priority placed on team play in each of those sessions.

Does this mean I will play for the Sussex U16 side?

The bottom line answer is NO it does not. However, three of the five U16 games are very quick into the season and you would have been training over the summer together so it is a good chance that most of you will form the basis of the U16 squad.

Do I need to buy kit?

You are entitled to purchase Sussex Rugby kit as you have already played for the county. There will be a basic kit requirement to attend the games come October. These will be the match shorts and socks, training T-shirt, Team Jacket and a formal shirt.
